The scent is great when you first bring it indoors. But you may as well chuck it after a day as weirdly the scent doesn't seem to last. Ever. (Indicating many tries...)

But I did recently discover a two foot high self seeded one at Veddw!

You're right of course! Thought that's probably about all I want from it as, though I'm fond of the scent, it's quite overpowering inside. Someone should tell it to chill out, and smell a bit less but for longer.

Sooo good, Andrew. I love that you describe the plant as one that appreciates committment and has an attachment style to parenting. 😅 Brilliant!

Nice to be able to find something growing in January. Here in the upper Midwest of USA the cold takes over but we are currently in an end of January thaw and if you watch closely some of the buds in trees and bushes are beginning to swell. The huge Silver Maple tree is showing changes, the Gingko trees have their little knobs beginning to green and grow just a tiny amount. If you walk slowly each day you can find changes but they are oh so small. It will all slow and stop next week as the cold and snow returns.

I do love the winterspring tussle for control of the landscape. Frustrating when the returning cold takes a toll on the blossom, though!
