Have you tried Riccartonii's fruit? Catch them at the ripe moment and they are very good indeed - expect strawberries and kiwi. Definitely one of the better flavoured varieties

I am just getting started with planting perennials at my new house, and the whole experience is new to me. I’ve been researching the perennials I want to plant in the spring, and hadn’t even considered fuchsias—until now!

Ah well I'm delighted to have popped that into your head! For less shrubby perennials, there's a fab book by Tracey Di Sabato-Aust called The Well-Tended Perennial Garden which I wholeheartedly recommend. US based so planting zones front and centre on each entry.

But do you pop fuchsia buds? I know I shouldn't but I couldn't resist just popping one as a child and so doing it occasionally now makes my inner child smile. And yes, I couldn't think of any way to write this without it probably inducing a childish snigger in some.
